Our teachers deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, supported by enrichment opportunities that give pupils the chance to gain real-world and vocational experiences, explore their interests and develop new skills.

Alongside formal learning, students have access to breakfast clubs, lunch provision and scheduled weekly one-to-one time with mentors. Our smaller class sizes allow staff to get to know each student closely and provide more individualised support throughout the school day.

Pastoral support is central to our approach. Parents and carers can contact individual staff directly, helping to build strong home-school communication and collaboration. We pride ourselves on having an open-door approach and want families to feel comfortable discussing any issues that may be affecting a young person’s education or wellbeing.

We are committed to supporting students’ wellbeing through both our internal support processes and links with external partners. Staff are trained in areas including coaching, mentoring and mental health support, while one-to-one sessions help maintain strong relationships and give students regular opportunities to discuss any support they may need.

Our wider wellbeing offer includes enrichment activities, access to external partners and recreational spaces where students can take time out and regulate when needed. Through reflection weeks, awareness days, reports and parent sessions, we also work closely with families to provide consistent and joined-up support.

Student welfare sits at the heart of our approach. From the moment a young person joins us, we work to understand their individual needs, potential and ambitions, and support them throughout their journey with Progress Arc.

Safeguarding

We recognise our responsibility to identify and respond to safeguarding and child protection concerns. All staff are trained in safeguarding procedures and are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for every student.

Our safeguarding approach extends beyond the classroom. We work in partnership with families, Local Authorities and external professionals to help ensure students are safe and supported at all times.

Students also take part in learning designed to help them develop the knowledge and skills they need to keep themselves safe, including online and within the wider community.
