Festive creativity, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit were on full display at Progress Arcs’ Enterprise day Christmas Fair as students transformed their ideas into products and successfully brought them to market.

The event challenged students to design, create and sell their own festive items, giving them hands on experience of entrepreneurship in action. From concept to customer, students took ownership of every step, including planning, pricing, marketing and selling, building valuable real-world skills along the way.

Using plants grown in the school garden, some students crafted beautiful handmade Christmas wreaths, combining sustainability with creativity. Others put their practical skills to work in Design and Technology, producing charming wooden Christmas snowmen, while another group showcased their flair for style with festive Christmas nail painting.

The results were impressive. Across the day, students generated an overall recorded profit of £688, highlighting both the success of the event and the strong engagement from the school community.

“Enterprise Day is all about giving our students the confidence to believe in their ideas and see what they’re capable of achieving. Watching them work together, solve problems and take pride in their products has been incredibly rewarding. Days like this really show how powerful learning can be when it’s brought to life.” Rachel Green, Head of Sixth Form.

Beyond the sales figures, the day offered something even more meaningful. Students developed confidence, communication skills, problem solving abilities and financial awareness, all within a supportive and encouraging environment. For many, it was a chance to see their talents valued and their efforts rewarded.

Enterprise day was a fantastic example of learning beyond the classroom, empowering young people to believe in their ideas, take pride in their work and recognise the possibilities that come from creativity and ambition.

A huge well done to all students involved for making the day such a festive and inspiring success.
